The Zeidler Gastrointestinal Health Centre is located in Edmonton, Alberta, attached to the University of Alberta Hospital. It supports many innovative and collaborative clinics where new gastroenterologists are trained and clinical trials and research studies are carried out. The centre is also in close proximity to lab spaces where new treatments and issues related to gastrointestinal and liver disorders are investigated. The centre serves over 10,000 patients. It has a special IBD Unit devoted to improving the lives of individuals with IBD. If you are looking for someone to help you manage your IBD care in Edmonton, this centre currently has 8 gastroenterologists specializing in IBD.
The Transition Clinic at the Zeidler Centre is a special interest of Dr. Karen Kroeker, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Alberta. She sees many of the young adults transferring from pediatric care at the Edmonton Pediatric IBD Clinic (EPIC) at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. This website was created as the result of a master’s project by one of Dr. Kroeker’s students.
